Tailo was born from Maria's firsthand struggles training rescue dogs with behavioural issues. Having experienced the challenges that can lead owners to surrender their pets, she knew there had to be a better way. With over 10 years of experience in AI and digital innovation, Maria set out to build the tool she wished she'd had.
Co-founder & CTO
An experienced software and AI engineer with over 20 years of delivering high-quality digital products, Dan rescues and fosters dogs alongside building Tailo. He previously scaled an AI startup to 10,000 users and brings deep technical expertise in building products that work at scale.

Tailo's analysis engine is built on peer-reviewed research into canine body language and stress indicators. It identifies subtle signals that even experienced dog owners often miss - from lip licking and whale eye to more nuanced postural shifts that indicate discomfort or anxiety.
Your dog's videos and health data stay private and secure. We use end-to-end encryption for video uploads, store data on UK and EU servers, and never sell your information to third parties. You retain full ownership of all your data, and can export or delete it at any time.
Tailo is a mission as much as a product. A share of subscriptions supports shelters, and our rescue plan helps rehome dogs faster using behavioural insights. We believe that understanding dogs better leads to fewer surrenders, stronger bonds, and happier lives - for dogs and their people.
Longer term, we're working towards a sustainable, green-energy-powered dog sanctuary committed to Net Zero practices. As Tailo grows, we want to create real-world impact for the dogs who need it most - not just through technology, but through direct care and support.
